MSMEs form the backbone of any vertical. Electronics is no different. The incentives mentioned under various other initiatives are available for MSMEs in the electronics sector. This section deals with additional incentives only available to MSMEs.

The scheme for supporting MSMEs in the electronic sector aims at providing financial support to MSMEs to promote manufacturing, to build quality into Indian manufacturing & also to encourage exporters. The support under this scheme will be provided in the form of reimbursement to the manufacturers in the MSMEs. This scheme for providing financial support as Grant in Aid (GIA) is expected to benefit the manufacturers, domestic industry, exporters in the electronic sector. The scheme will provide GIA for reimbursement of expenses related to compliance of electronic goods with Indian standards, for testing and certification required for export and for development of Electronic Manufacturing Clusters(EMCs). The scheme is for two years initially.
