R&D Projects in Cyber Security

Cyber Security R&D group of Ministry of Electronics and Information technology (MeitY) is leading major initiatives identified for securing cyber space with focus on promotion of R&D, demonstration, proof of concept and establishment of test beds for enhancing indigenous skills and capabilities in the cyber security.

India needs to build a robust research base for technology and product development, testing, evaluation and certification framework and standardization to enhance cyber security posture of the country in a well-rounded fashion.

MeitY is closely working with Academia and R&D labs and pursuing research and development work which is suitable to meet the security challenges faced in various cyber security domains.

Intended to build technology independence for including Creation of R&D ecosystem, creation of Infrastructure for advanced R&D in Cyber Security, promote and accelerate development of products for local and global needs, cost effective indigenous frugal solutions targeting India specific challenges, as defined below:

  • Skilling of IT workforce and sensitisation of citizen for conscious adoption of tools and technologies as digital citizen

Remediation & Assurance through sponsored projects at recognized R&D organizations. Government is closely working with Academia, Industry, National R&D labs and pursuing R& D solutions suitable to meet the security challenges faced in various critical information infrastructure and Law Enforcement Agencies.

New roadmaps and projects are formulated / initiated in thrust areas identified on continuous basis to enable enhancement of expertise / skills in R&D for cyber security in the country.
