Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS)
Next Generation Incubation Scheme or “NGIS” is a futuristic & comprehensive incubation scheme entrusted by MeitY to STPI for implementation. NGIS has a vision to drive the rise of India as a Software Product Nation so as to make India a global player in development, production and supply of Innovative, Efficient and Secure Software Products (including embedded software). NGIS is focusing on 12 locations across India viz. Agartala, Bhilai, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Mohali, Patna & Vijayawada. It shall support 300 startups/Entrepreneurs/SMEs in the field of IT/ITeS/ESDM and targets 50+ patent/IPRs from startups under NGIS.
Market Outreach initiatives
i) Business and Marketing Assistance Office for soft landing of Indian IT/ ITeS SMEs in USA (East Coast and West Coast).
ii) Business and Marketing Assistance Office for soft landing of Indian IT/ ITeS SMEs in UK (London and Manchester).
iii) B2B Strategic IT Services Networking Meet between Indian IT &ITeS buyers from Japan & Korea
The projects titled “Business and Marketing Assistance Office for Indian IT SMEs in existing infrastructure for soft landing in US” and “Business and Marketing Assistance Office for Indian IT SMEs in existing infrastructure for soft landing in UK” was approved by MeitY vide administrative approval dated 19.02.2020 under the Champion Sector Services Scheme (CSSS). Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) is the implementing agency for the above projects.
Objective project (i) and (ii): The Projects was approved for a period of three years to assist Indian IT/ ITeS SME companies by providing them soft landing in existing infrastructure in USA and UK so that Indian IT SME companies can gain market access in a big way and propel their market share. Projects envisaged setting –up of two Business and Marketing (B&M) assistance offices for Indian IT SMEs in existing infrastructure for soft landing in USA (at east coast and west coast of USA) and two setting up of two B&M Offices in UK in London and Manchester. A total of 30 companies in each identified country (5 non-competing companies per year per center) are to be supported under these projects. All 5 companies of a B&M office will have a single Sr. Marketing Executive.
Objective project (iii): Under the project “B2B Strategic IT Services Networking Meet between Indian IT &ITeS buyers from Japan & Korea”, B2B meets are to be organised with the support of Embassy of India, Japan and Embassy of India, Republic of Korea and various other counterpart organisations to identify potential buyers for the Indian IT industry. These meets will lead to furthering India’s IT Exports to both the countries. Through this the project is the potential IT buyers from respective countries will be able to network and have first-hand information about the strength(s) of Indian IT industry and thus source the best of IT &ITeS products/ Services from Indian IT &ITeS industry which will help Indian IT &ITeS industry to create market niches in Japan and Republic of Korea.
